  • April, 2011 — Sheremetyevo International Airport for the first time in its history broke into the top three Eastern Europe airports in terms of service quality at year-end 2010, according to the annual rating of independent research company Skytrax Research (UK).
  • May 25, 2011 — Sheremetyevo Airport launched its own Twitter microblog. Sheremetyevo account is twitter.com/svo_airport
  • July 18, 2011 — Sheremetyevo approved a comprehensive Program of Innovative Development for the period until 2015. The program is based on the experience of the world’s leading aviation companies.
  • October 6, 2011 — a free lounge Sirius for physically challenged passengers was opened at Sheremetyevo Airport (Terminal E, sterile area). Sirius is the first and, so far, the only Russian lounge for passengers of this category that meets international comfort and equipment standards. The lounge is open to all physically challenged passengers departing from International Terminals D, E and F.
  • November 16, 2011 — Sheremetyevo International Airport became the first airport to launch online check-in service with the help of Skype, the major Internet telephony provider.
  • December 13, 2011 — Federal Property Management Agency approved the Agreement of affiliation of JSC Terminal (the operator of Terminal D) to JSC Sheremetyevo International Airport. Thus, the process of Sheremetyevo Airport consolidation entered its final stage.
  • December 26, 2011 — Sheremetyevo International Airport was the first in Russia to open an Airport Operation Centre (AOC). The Airport Operation Centre makes it possible to control business processes, coordinate promptly the Airport divisions and third-party actions, and to coordinate the joint action of all participants of service processes related to Air Force, passengers and luggage, as well as to monitor and analyze in real time the situation on the territory of Sheremetyevo.
  • January 16, 2012 — Terminal A, available for business aviation passengers, was commissioned. The new terminal renders all the necessary range of services for business aviation customers. The total area of the terminal is 3,000 square meters, and its handling capacity is up to 75,000 passengers per year.
  • February 17, 2012 — SVO-watcher, the official fan club of Sheremetyevo Airport, was launched.
