Sheremetyevo Decides upon an Investment Consultant

By decision of the Board of Directors, JSC Sheremetyevo International Airport has successfully recruited an investment consultant to complete work relating to consolidation of the airport’s property and securing the services of a management company with successful experience working with major international airport hubs. The investment consultant should also offer recommendations regarding privatization of shares in JSC Sheremetyevo International Airport following completion of consolidation.

Seven proposals were submitted during recruitment by leading Russian and international investment banks (the overall number of investment banks participating in recruitment totaled nine, as two joint proposals were submitted).

Following a thorough analysis of the submitted proposals, the recruitment commission of JSC Sheremetyevo International Airport comprised by representatives of all interested parties: OJSC Aeroflot, OJSC Terminal, Vnesheconombank, Rosaviatsia, Rosimushestvo, declared the winner to be a consortium of investment banks Credit Suisse and Troika Dialog. According to the recruitment commission’s assessment, the consortium Credit Suisse—Troika Dialog more than anyone else corresponded to the requirements of the job assignment and accumulated the greatest number of points. In addition, the consortium Credit Suisse—Troika Dialog has the required professional experience with analogous projects in the Russian Federation and abroad.

Legal oversight of the project will be provided by multi-national company Gide Loyrette Nouel.

The timeframe in which the investment consultant will perform the required work is estimated at eight months, effective immediately upon closure of the deal, which will be signed within thirty days.

Realization of this project will expedite the process of transforming Sheremetyevo International Airport into a major international hub; the prerequisites for this are already in place. In particular, construction was completed in 2009 on new passenger terminals D and E. The establishment of an international hub at Sheremetyevo complies with the strategy of Russia’s biggest airline Aeroflot-RA, as well as with the Transport Strategy of the Russian Federation. Stock market entries in Russia and abroad by JSC Sheremtyevo International Airport also conform to the Russian Federation Government’s plans for creating an international financial center in Moscow.

Sheremetyevo International Airport is Russia’s largest airport in terms of regularly-scheduled international air traffic. The airport’s quality management system is certified according to standard ISO 9001:2000. In 2009, Sheremetyevo serviced 14 mln 764 thous passengers. Sheremetyevo serves as an international hub of the Sky Team alliance, in addition to partnerships with airlines in the Oneworld and StarAlliance networks. Sheremetyevo plans by 2015 to become the leading airport hub in Europe in terms of passenger service. The government owns a 100% shareholding in JSC “SIA.”
