Air France and KLM airlines are transferring their flights to Terminal E of Sheremetyevo Airport

Sheremetyevo International Airport is increasing the number of flights from its newly constructed Terminal E that was put in operation on April 30, 2010. Starting from July 13, Sheremetyevo’s longtime and reliable business partners Air France and KLM airlines are transferring their flights to the new Terminal. Previously all flights of the said air companies had been carried out from terminal F.

Therefore since July 13 the number of flights realized through Terminal E will increase to 10. At the present time this air complex is daily servicing 3 flights by Air Astana (2 flights to Astana and 1 flight to Almaty) and one flight by Estonian Air (a daily flight Moscow-Tallinn).

High-Tech Terminal E opens wide possibilities in providing high-quality services to its passengers, clients and air carriers in Sheremetyevo Airport. It can also offer favorable conditions to carriers and tour operators—in particular, this Terminal adjoins the railway terminal “Aeroexpress” which makes passenger transportation between terminals within the airport territory fast and convenient.

We’d like to remind you that the first flight to Moscow carried out by Air France was made in 1954, while KLM started flying to Moscow in 1958. At the present time Sheremetyevo Airport daily maintains 6 flights by Air France and KLM—2 flights carry passengers on the route between Amsterdam and Moscow and four—between Moscow and Paris.

Sheremetyevo International Airport is the largest Russian airport in terms of providing regular international passenger flights. Construction of Terminal E marked an important stage in the complex modernization of the Airport. Terminal E is equipped with high-tech facilities and fully corresponds to the world standards in the quality of passenger service and airlines. It will become the most technically advanced part of the Sheremetyevo Airport. After the new terminal started operating the carrying capacity of Sheremetyevo Airport has increased to 32 million passengers per year. The carrying capacity of the Terminal E itself is about 7 million passengers per year.

Terminals D, E, F and the railway terminal “Aeroexpress” constitute the Southern Airport Complex (SAC). Passenger zones before the check-in zone are connected by covered passageways so that passengers can move in between the three Terminals with comfort and ease. In the nearest future new walking galleries will connect the terminals’ “clear zones”. The total area of SAC is approximately 400 thousand square meters, its carrying capacity reaches 25 million passengers per year.
