A low-cost air carrier Avianova has transferred its flights to Sheremetyevo International Airport.
Sheremetyevo International Airport is the first Russian hub that organized a special low-cost terminal based on Terminal B. This became achievable after South Airport Terminal Complex was developed (terminals D, E, F and Aeroexpress)—the largest aviation hub with the throughput capacity of 25 mln people annually. The Terinal B has the throughput capacity of about 4 mln people annually, which will allow brining low-cost service in Russia to a new level providing high quality customer service meeting the international standards.
Avianova launched the flights from Sheremetyevo International Airport on March 28, 2010. In the five-month period of 2010, the airline handled over 600 000 people via Sheremetyevo International Airport reaching a 20% share of total airport’s passenger traffic in domestic service. In July 2010, Avianova handled over 150 000 people via Sheremetyevo.
