flydubai touches down at Sheremetyevo airport

November 29, Sheremetyevo International Airport welcomed the inaugural flight of flydubai airlines, which will be operating regular flights on the route Moscow-Dubai. flydubai became the first representative of the United Arab Emirates at Sheremetyevo airport. The flights will be operated daily (arriving at 05:25 Moscow time, departure at 06:25 Moscow time) from Terminal E of Sheremetyevo airport. Boeing 737 Next Generation (up to 189 seat capacity) will run on the route. The flight time will be a little more than 5 hours.

Business Class return fares from Sheremetyevo to Dubai start at RUB 69,353 and are inclusive of all taxes and 40kg checked baggage. Economy Class return fares start at RUB 16,100 including 7kg hand baggage.

Passengers traffic shows strong growth at Sheremetyevo-Dubai route during three years period. Sheremetyevo airport has served about 160 ths. passengers from the beginning of the year. This is a 26% increase to the same period last year. Passengers traffic will exceed 200 ths. by year’s end according to forecasts.

flydubai will launch flights to Sheremetyevo airport on the latest aircrafts Boeing 737 MAX 8 from January 1, 2018. Aircraft was recently presented at the Dubai Air Show and before the end of the year flydubai fleet will increase by six models.

The 737 MAX 8 will offer a redefined Business Class experience with more space and privacy, providing a perfect environment to work, catch a movie or have a comfortable rest with a fully flat bed. The economy seat on board MAX aircraft features optimized space and comfort too. Passengers will find on board more spacious luggage shelves, improved sound quality and maximum reliability.

Russian citizens travelling to Dubai benefit from a free Visa-on-Arrival for 30 days, which can be renewed for another 30 days. The regulation became effective earlier this year and prompted a 95% increase in travel from Russia to Dubai in January—September 2017, according to the Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM)[1].
