Tax Free

Starting April 10, 2018 Sheremetyevo International Airport introduces the pilot project of Value Added Tax (VAT) refund service for passengers – foreign passport holders. The rebate is available in cash and non-cash for the aforementioned passengers carrying earlier purchased goods outside Eurasian Customs Union. To do required paperwork and apply for tax refund, the passengers can now use designated Tax Free facilities in terminals D, E and F.

Please note that only passengers holding foreign citizenship are eligible for this service.

1. After entering your terminal of departure, go to the check-in desks, where the representative of an airline will help you complete the check-in process:

  • if you are carrying goods eligible for Tax Free refund (in baggage or hand luggage), you will be directed to the Tax Free claim desks located in the Customs area, where required check of the goods and paperwork must be completed.

2. After completing required procedures and having prepared all necessary documentation, select the method of refund – cash or non-cash:

2.1. Non-cash refund:

  • Having completed the Customs check and having filled the necessary documents for Tax Free claim, please put the receipts for goods eligible for Tax Free into designated Tax Free operator’s boxes located next to the Tax Free goods checkpoint;
  • Go to the Customs area (go through either Green or Red channel depending on the goods you are carrying) for the further check and baggage drop (if necessary);
  • Complete all remaining pre-flight formalities as usual and proceed to Gates.

2.2. Cash refund:

  • Proceed to the Bank Provider desk, where you will receive your cash refund upon handing all necessary documents;
  • After receiving your cash refund, go to the Customs area (go through either Green or Red channel depending on the goods you are carrying) for the further check and baggage drop (if necessary);
  • Complete all remaining pre-flight formalities as usual and proceed to Gates.
